There are a lot of things can share during the first two months of school. Since I can’t share all the thing at once. I tell them separately by different lessons I learn from God. This time, I would like to tell two stories.
The first story is about a girl in my small group just went back to her country. We knew each other from IFI Friday Night almost a year till now but the time for studying bible together probably only from this summer. We used to notice this girl focus more on her phone than what we talk and sometime I felt upset when she gave a totally irrelevant answer when we ask some questions about the verse we read. These kind of things happened several times, I felt that I can do nothing except praying for her. But I didn’t have confident on this prayer (I always did not have that much confident on praying for non-believers’ eyes open and ears can hear even though God already let me witness a lot of testimonies through my prayers—you can tell how weak I am!)
Students are always busy and joining a lot of activities at the beginning of the semester. I kept inviting this girl with different excuses for Friday night gathering. One day she finally showed up since a friend of us will leave in the other days. That’s his last time with us. During the sharing time, she mentioned her old plan on that night was going out with her roommate for fun but she chose to join us at last. And she combined the verse we read that day was John2:1-11 about Jesus’s first miracle. She was thinking about God’s time and God’s will on this miracle and she said this time she chose to come to bible study instead of going out with her friends was following God’s will instead of herself which is very worthy. I was so surprised by her statements and the following story she shared about a video she saw on YouTube about a young girl became visible after getting a pair of special glasses. The happy tears she saw from this little girl moved her so well, she couldn’t help to cry after watching this video. And she is willing to acknowledge that everyone likes that little girl when they found how great of God will cry like this girl. Through him so that we can see!
The other girl I pray for her several months even though she only joint our Friday night not more than five times when she was in Columbus. But after I keep sharing and praying for her. One day she told me that when she read the verse about how God loves us as son and daughter, she couldn’t help to cry. She said that probably because she was really eager for being loved and when she knows that God loves her so much like a home for her to return so that she cried.
I was so moved daily by these kind of experiences and I am always so grateful can be the witness of God’s work even though I am such a weak person! But God Loves Us!
