This month we took a class with Karen about Listen to God. I really need it. I always want to hear from God, but I haven’t heard from Him yet. Or I already heard Him, but I didn’t realize that it was from God. When we took this class, Karen will let us do nothing for 15 minutes, just be quiet during that 15minutes. I really enjoyed it because I can finally rest 15 minutes and do nothing. When I was quite, got rid of all the things in my head, I felt an amazing peace and relax. I can enjoy the creation from God better. I love the 15 minutes and the class.  I pray that I can hear more from God.

I am applying for graduate school recently. I used  Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up“(Galatians 6:9) which is one of my favorite verse in Bible to start my personal statement. However, my teacher who helped me review my personal statement changed it to ” Nothing is impossible with a willing heart.” She said you didn’t know if the school you were applying to has a Christian background or other religious backgrounds. Thus, she wants me not to use Bible verse to start the personal statement just in case. I was upset and hesitated whether to change it or not. I want God to tell me what He wants me to do. I need to listen to my God, so I prayed and used sources in Karen’s class. I asked God for few days, but I still didn’t get the answer. My teacher said I need to submit my application soon because the deadline is coming.

I kept praying to God. On Friday night, we studied the story of Abraham was tested by God to sacrifice Issac in IFI group. In that story, God provided the sacrifices for Abraham when Abraham obeyed God. I felt that maybe God wants to tell me no matter what, if we believe in God and obey Him, He will provide. After the IFI group, I went back and did master life. On that day, master life required me to read John 15. I found the last 2 verses said  “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me. And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning.” (John 15:26-27) The Bible said you also must testify. I think maybe it is God telling to testify for Him. I felt that God may use these two Scriptures to tell me to testify for Him and He will provide. I was so excited that God answered my question! I will use Galatians 6:9 to start my personal statement. I believe no matter which school I apply if that is the one God provides for me, no one can stop me getting in. I want to testify for my God. I want all the people to know how important the Word of my God is, how the Word helped me.

I was so happy to hear from God last week. I was so grateful that I can share this little story with my Chinese fellowship group and they prayed for me. After the prayer, I submitted my applications with Galatians 6:9.
