I have been reading many verses about the tongue — God created for us. The tongue is very powerful. The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk with reap the consequences (Proverbs 18:21). I am surprised that the tongue can bring death. Reviewing my life before, I did not really watch my mouth and I hurt people. I found it is very painful and not easy to control. Without God, I could not imagine how bad the words I could say to people around me. Without God, I could not imagine how I ignored the hurts I made for people around me. Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut (Proverbs 10:19). God is the truth. I truly experienced that “Too much talk leads to sin”. Every time, when I was talking to my friends for long, I always led the conversation into an inappropriate topic. The pride causes me not to look for God’s lead for my conversation. Instead, I try to control it by myself more and more. “I have the power and the authority”, this untrue idea takes my mind. Nowadays, I always remind myself to say less and listen more. Whatever I do, I must invite Jesus in my life to guide me.
