“Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
I have experienced twice baptisms. The first time was when I was 12 years old when my good friend took me to the church. When I went to her church for the second time, the church people thought I was ready be baptized. But, God was still a blurry concept for me. I am kind of scared the way they urged me to have the baptism. After that, I never went back to that church. I didn’t tell my parents about the baptism at that time.
After I graduated from my undergraduate degree in Taiwan I had a break time before going to US to study my master degree. I visited a college classmate’s house. I met my friend’s father and he just got baptism recently. When he knew that I was going to US to study. He said to me that will be great there are a lot of Christians in US. You will learn a lot there. I put his words in mind.
Jan 2016, when I got US I started to look for a church. I met a Taiwanese couple who serve Chinese students in an American Church. There is no Chinese pastor in our church so we watched sermons video including Chinese and American pastors. After a few months, I understood who God is and how He loves me. So, I decided to have the baptism again on May 2016.
Before I came to America, I rarely went to church. But God put Christian friends around me. Although they can’t explain my confusion very well, but I see the kindness and the faith in them. Thank the Lord, He is always holding me and taking me back to His family.
