This month is my third month interning at IFI and finally get some used to the working and class getting to know God better.

One of the class we had in this month is called “Story telling”. I learned how to start sharing Gospel with non-believers using stories told by Jesus using different tons and actions. For me it was hard to start sharing even using a story. And every week, almost everyone in the class had a chance to share to someone except me :(. Feeling a little bit stress, I shared the story of two sons in Luke with my mom in the middle of this month (because she is my mom and it is easy to tell story to her). So interesting conversation happened:

Me: “Mom I have a story to tell you.”

Mom: “A story about Jesus again right? (voice sounds no interest)”

Me: “Umm……Yes!” And then I tell the story.

Mom: “See, because the father is wealthy, so he can give half of his wealth to the younger sun to squander.”

At that time, I don’t know How to reply her, but now I think because our heavenly father is so much richer in everything. However, he also loves us so much that he gives us (like the younger son) to spend. Different people have different angle of understanding the same story, most of times I feel I’m not prepared for answer all kinds of response well. Our conversation stops here on that day since I’m not prepared for that answer, and my mom sounds like no interests in the story. However, last week mom called me and mentioned that she thought about the two sons story for a week and she told me what she thought about:

Mom: “I can totally understand the Father in the story welcomed his son back. So you tell me the story to say that you are the younger son and will go back home soon? …Or which son do you want to be, the older one? “

Me: “Umm……”

Another hard question to answer. Still working on answer this question to my mom. And I start to think which one I think I was in. I feel I’m swing between the two sons, and hard to determine exactly one.

After praying a lot, God finally give me another Chinese girl that I can meet one on one with about once every 1-2 weeks. (The one different than those two I mentioned in previous two month’s blog) This girl is really open minded, and willing to share her thoughts about who God is. I told a story of Martha in Luke (This is my second time telling a story, still nervous when shared). She answered like “You are always busy all the time. But there is something more important for you to explore and listen.” She is a non-believer and I’m so impressed on how she understands the story! But still I don’t know how to continue the conversation but said “Wow you are thinking what I did not get before! It is so good, thanks for sharing.” Still need some practice on continuing topic on gospel. She goes to our Friday night bible discussion group every week, so I prayed for her, and for our time together. This is also my prayer request, if any reader can pray for my courage from God to get deeper talk. 🙂

In the middle of this month we finished Materlife book 2 and at the end we shared our testimonies within the small group using the structure we learned in the book. I was so impressed at how God uses different methods to show people his plan for each of our group members and then called them to repentance. A week later, I got the chance to share my testimony at Grace fellowship UA campus. It was a perfect timing God’s plan for me to practice giving testimony!

Every month I feel I have a lot to share, I want to touch every corner that I learned from this internship and put them into real world practice. But I need to stop here, (The blog is too Long I feel) , and thanks for your time reading my month post.
