Charles and I came to Columbus on 7/16. To speak frankly, we have many times moving experiences but from Florida to Columbus is the farthest time. Why did we choose to be an iseeder? We both cherish that we can stay in the same city in the US and the best thing is we can do God’s work and grow spiritually.
To leave the fellowship in Tampa Florida is really sad for us. We are very close but the Bible tells us we have to leave our parent, therefore, we can be more independent. We can’t always be a baby nourish by others and we should start to feed ourselves and also feed others.
However, we decided to come to Columbus. We know Christians are our family no matter where they are. We have the same heavenly father. We learn the same teaching.
To face the new start, we began to look for apartments that we want to stay for a year. After looking for more than 10 apartments, there are two housing we really like. The first one, the manager promised us when the room was cleaned up tomorrow we can sign the lease and move in we don’t need to pay a deposit in advance. Then tomorrow afternoon the manager said someone already took the room. The second apartment, someone signed the lease when we were on the way to buy money orders. We were really frustrated about finding apartments. We want to settle down as soon as possible. We still have five big boxes staying in the office. If we don’t have an apartment we couldn’t pack our things.
However, when we look back there are many things we can appreciate too. Our host family Kim and Esther let us stay one more month to look for apartments. We had a great time living in their house, we know each other more and they get to know more about what IFI do and the iseed program.
Charles and I came to the place where we don’t know anyone and we have never come to Ohio before. Columbus is a totally strange place to us. But after a month now, I feel comfortable living here and I believe God has always a good purpose for us to come here. We are excited to have this one year internship with IFI. I have chances to learn more about God and experience His love and His lead.
