In February, we had a class on worldviews and talked about different worldviews and how they define reality for their adherents. Ravi Zacharias defines worldview as an answer to “four necessary questions: origin, meaning, morality and destiny.” It is amazing how people across ages and cultures have continued to ask the same questions. While our answers are often different, the fact that we ask these questions, reflects the human belief that there are important questions we must all answer to understand our life here on earth, because the answers to these questions will determine how we live. Herein lies the importance of truth. If we are to base our whole lives on answers to four questions, isn’t it worth considering whether our answers are true?

Scripture tells us, “He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]—yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end.” Eccl 3:11b (AMP). He set eternity in our hearts to start us on the journey toward Him. Our longing for answers is a great place to start seeking God who is truth. Praise God that He has given us the answers to our questions through His word. The answer to how we got here, why we are here, how we should live and to what end. “In him we live and move and have our being.” Acts 17:28a (NIV). He is the answer to our deepest longings. What a joy it is to know Him and find true, abundant life in Him! Praise God that we have the joy of sharing in other people’s journeys of answering the important questions of life!
