Role
As Mobilization Coordinator, Avery helps with various aspects of “mobilization”: inspiring others to explore collaborative opportunities with IFI, initiating new avenues for creative mobilization, and supporting new leaders with administrative needs.
His roles include improving and managing web content, communication, volunteer processes, and other resources for local and national efforts. He helps other organizations explore collaborative opportunities with IFI, including sharing resources/ideas, providing an avenue to share about ISM with staff, and more. His goal is to work alongside leaders to help them extend friendship and hospitality to students out of reverence for Jesus.
He helps support and mentor students in Indy and Chicago.
His vision is to partner with Christ in sharing His love and grace by enhancing the capacity of local leaders, expanding the national reach, collaborating with other organizations, and supporting international students.
Background
Avery knew about God growing up, but did not follow him. As a teenager, he began a process of questioning and exploring the truth. In 2017, he experienced life transformation and became new in Christ (2 Cor 5:17; Rom 6:4-7).
He began serving in a Christian community organization exploring life’s biggest questions, named Ratio Christi. While in college, he enjoyed engaging in discussions with students, faculty, and guests from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds.
He graduated from IUPUI (now IUI) in 2020 with a BA in History.
Avery helps the world feel at home by sharing God’s commitment and love to bless every people group, mobilizing others to do the same, and mentoring students into multiplying leaders. He is motivated by a commitment to let Jesus work through him as his life and share Jesus’ love and grace with friends wherever he goes.
