Scott was born in Rochester NY and later moved to Columbus to attend Ohio State University. He received his BS in Industrial & Systems Engineering in 1992, and MS in same discipline from Purdue University in 1999. For 26 years, he held many Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, Communications, and Human Resource roles in AT&T, Lucent, and Nokia. In May 2019, Scott was appointed COO at IFI and was released into his role in February 2020. In September 2025, Scott transitioned to National Development role where he will be a Director of Staff and Donor Engagement. In Scott’s new role, he will be a front-facing leader who embodies IFI’s relational and spiritual DNA, serving as a shepherd, encourager, and ambassador to both staff and donors. This role is responsible for supporting new staff orientation, making sure the staff feel welcomed and supported in their early journey with IFI, and cultivating meaningful donor relationships. Scott will represent IFI at select national conferences and Christian community events.

He and his wife, Carin, have two children: a daughter practicing Veterinary Medicine and a son serving in the Marines. Scott rededicated his life to Christ in April 1997. He has attended and held many roles at Discover Christian Church for the last 25+ years including Deacon, Elder, Sunday School Teacher, Life Group Leader, Connections Team Leader, and Men’s Group participant. Scott’s wife, Carin, has been an integral part of his family partnering with IFI. They started volunteering with IFI in 2017, and hosted a Korean Student, Hyoeun, at their home for about 2-3 weeks. They acclimated her to Columbus and got her moved into her dorm on The Ohio State University campus. They have also hosted Tree of Life Christian High School students from South Korea and China from December 2021 to June 2024.
