My journey of self-discovery and God’s will for my life was primarily impacted by IFI. I was only in my freshman year at Wright State in spring 2012 when I met Gloria Kelios. That fall we started the Dayton IFI branch. Over the last four years, I have grown in many ways as a student leader in IFI to the point where I became Associate Staff in January of my senior year (2015). In May 2015, I graduated with a B.A. in Spanish from Wright State, where my passion for language and culture was birthed.
Through my adventures abroad and experiences in college, God has grown in me a passion to love and serve international students. In my search for calling and purpose, God showed me that all of my giftings and talents align perfectly in the context of IFI Dayton. And even though I have worked other jobs as a server in a Colombian restaurant, as a writing center tutor, and as a high school substitute Spanish teacher, each of these jobs has only served to confirm that IFI is where I want to invest ALL of my time and energy. I want to live my life intentionally to be about my Father’s work. For me that means loving and strategically investing in these students so that they might know Jesus, as their Savior, the Anointed One of God. I know I still have much to learn about discipling and international student ministry, but I’m confident that for the time being, this is where God has called me.
