After receiving Christ’s forgiveness in his late twenties, Ken moved to Columbus to start a family with his wife, Julie. They now have three children entering those fun and challenging teen years. Although, Julie’s passion for cross-cultural missions was strong from the beginning, God needed to work on Ken’s heart. God did just that through his word and deep fellowship with other followers of Jesus and exposure to international students through various volunteer opportunities at IFI. From airport pick-up and temporary housing to Friday night Bible studies and English conversation partnerships, Ken has seen God deepen his heart for the lost and for international students in particular.
In August 2014, God called Ken to a deeper commitment to IFI by preparing him to step into a new, full-time position at IFI, Chief Operating Officer. During these years of growth, Ken co-founded a software design and development company. Running a business can be gratifying and it certainly is challenging. Changing careers as a business owner is even more difficult. Ken felt that God needed to do something big in order for him to consider a more mission focused career. In 2012, God brought about the acquisition of Ken’s business. Ken continued as employee, most recently as their COO, with responsibility for seven offices on four continents. Ken’s primary goal is to make all facets of the internal workings of IFI more efficient so that Rich Mendola and other workers at the forefront can focus more fully on the ministry of reaching and discipling international students. Ken’s biggest passion is to see international students won into Christ’s Kingdom and to see those same students return to their home countries equipped to lead or participate in church-planting movements.
Please join in supporting Ken’s efforts to help IFI be good stewards of the international students, volunteers, churches, funds, and staff members that God has granted to us.
