2012  Goals

This is a quick overview of IFI's financial goals and needs to reach students from all over the world. Please contact us if you have any questions. These figures could change as some major ministry decisions are being made, but these numbers reflect our plans based on 2011.

  • Campus Ministry: Funding direct student campus ministry, $17,737
  • Internship Program: Funding 5 more students for 2011-12, $60,000
  • Volunteer Ministry: Funding the recruitment and coordination of new and active volunteers to share with students the love and gospel of Christ, $30,000
  • Ministry Center: Funding ministry through the IFI building, $5,000
  • General Operations: Funding the basic operations of IFI, $41,000
  • Development: Funding the ministry of development and fundraising for IFI, $46,000
  • Total: $199,737

Your old furniture or household goods can mean the world to an international!

ITEMS NEEDED: New students arrive with two suitcases. The things they need most are beds (twin, full or queen--no king size, please), desks and desk chairs, TVs (that accept VHS/DVD player), TV stands, microwave ovens and microwave carts, dining tables and chairs, lamps (both floor and table), bookcases, end tables, and coffee tables. Usually students do NOT need sheets, blankets and towels, clothing or small kitchen items.

Mattress Moving TruckHOW TO DONATE: When you call or email to donate, please tell us what you have, where it is now, your name and contact info, and when is the best time for someone to come to pick up your donation if you cannot deliver it yourself. IFI can provide a written receipt for tax purposes, if you wish.

IFI has no storage space for furniture donations. Usually we try to match donations with students' immediate needs so that storage isn't necessary. God is faithful! So far this approach is working!

When you donate, please consider making a donation to cover the cost of gas for IFI's long-bed pickup truck, especially if your pickup spot is far from the OSU campus.

We are praying for someone--retirees?--to take over the furniture ministry for IFI. Although the staff member currently responsible loves doing this, she has many other areas of responsibility, too. We are praying for someone who can devote 5 to 20 hours a week to this strategic ministry. The qualifications are: a) Person with a driver's license and physical strength and/or a network of physically strong friends; b) Someone who loves meeting new people and loving others in Jesus' name; c) Someone who's not ashamed to raid dumpsters for usable items; and, possibly, someone skilled in furniture cleaning and repair.
